New Jersey Cuts New-Boat Sales Tax In Half

The state’s marine industry celebrated last Wednesday after Gov. Chris Christie signed a bill that they say aligns the state with neighboring states’ tax laws and gives them hope after the industry was battered by the recession and devastated by Hurricane Sandy.

Adventure Beckons

As I neared the dock’s end, my eyes were drawn to the distinctive navy-blue lobster-style hull, the davit-mounted Walker Bay dinghy on the transom, and the bright-red kayaks racked on the upper deck. The package was visually appealing and simultaneously beckoned adventure.
