There is a consensus among those that cross the Pacific Ocean: Go east to west, following prevailing weather.


Despite this, our next guests—Nathan and Lindsay of the 71 Percent—started their 10,000 nautical mile-plus journey on Australia’s Gold Coast on a Selene 49 with the goal of getting to the Pacific Northwest in less than a year.


The couple cast lines during cyclone season in the South Pacific and hurricane season closer to home. They managed watch schedules, on-the-fly repairs and much more to complete multi-week open ocean legs during their massive reverse transpacific trip.
