Following the styling cues and hull form of the popular 29 (profiled on page 54 in the March 2016 issue, “A Tale Of Two Rangers”), Ranger Tugs announced the debut of the Ranger 23.
Looking decidedly less tug and more sportboat (particularly in relation to the workboat-looking 21 and 25 that sandwich it), the new 23 features the wide stance and curved, vertical pilothouse glass of the 29, as well as her step-up-on-plane hull design and wide girth in the fo’c’sle. The 23 will come standard with a 200-horsepower Yamaha outboard, or buyers can spring for an optional 170-horsepower Volvo inboard with Duoprop sterndrive. This is the first Ranger Tug to feature an outboard.
Inside, the boat snugly sleeps six in a forward cabin and what Ranger calls a “mid berth,” with a saloon table that drops and converts to a third berth. Other features in the galley include standard fridge/freezer, gas cooker, and microwave. Like the 29, there is a single, private wet head off the forward cabin.
Like all Ranger Tugs, the 23 comes equipped with a standard electronics package, including a Garmin 7610 GPS with depth sounder & fish finder, VHF, and compass included.
Introductory pricing for the outboard begins at $94,937, while the inboard option starts at $109,937.
