This Spring has felt a bit like a slow day of fishing but it’s almost time to time to Bait…and Switch.

The Pirate’s Cove Billfish Tournaments offer something for every member of your crew. Exceptional fishing, fun times with family, old friends and new. Our run is short, our tournaments are affordable and still offer exceptional prizes and purses. In short, Pirate’s Cove is definitely your kind of place. We invite you to join us this year…for the first time or the 37…we will roll out the red carpet!

Pirate’s Cove Billfish Tournament Week 2020 is on schedule as planned kicking off with our one of a kind Ladies Only event – the 31 Annual Alice Kelly Memorial Ladies Only Billfish Tournament August 8 and 9. Registration for the 37 Annual Pirate’s Cove Billfish Tournament takes place on Monday, August 10 and the crews will fish 3 out of 4 days through Friday, August 14. The participants of the 3 Annual SheepDog Veterans Challenge join the fun that night and fish their one day event Saturday, August 15.

The Pirate’s Cove Tournaments are held right in the middle of a beautiful 100 acre boating community. Teams that choose to stay in the neighborhood enjoy amenities including pools, clubhouse and fitness center as well as small boat dockage right behind most homes. Just 8 miles from the Oregon Inlet sea buoy, our marina offers in slip fueling, fish cleaning houses, golf cart parking and a huge air conditioned Tournament Pavilion which is where the magic happens.

Come for the World Class Fishing

Over 1000 anglers every year enjoy exceptional release fishing during Tournament Week. PCBT is a modified release tournament that still boasts a 99% release rate. At PCBT we are all about double digit whites and sails – release fishing at its finest. But if a blue one comes up, grab video footage for extra release points and watch out for the big one! In our history we have weighed a few trophy fish including 2 Granders (and the NC record at 1228.5 pounds) and 2 more blues over 900 pounds!

PCBT Calcuttas allow for strategic and affordable team investments. Vie for over $700K in prize money with a minimum entry fee of only $5,000 or go across the board at just $12,500. Our short run to the fish also means less fuel burn and more time on the dock with family, friend & sponsors

Come for the Camaraderie

Our unique, singular location enables family and crew to enjoy the tournament atmosphere together.

Excellent fishing and family fun…we keep the party going for our non-fishermen with a Kids Camp and Tournament, our fabulous Ladies Pampering, Daily Breakfast, LayDay Activities, Nightly Dinners and Dancing.

The anglers on your team can compete against over 700 ladies in the Alice Kelly or vie for Daily Top Junior Angler honors, Top Lady and 15 other non-cash prizes in the PCBT.

And while you’re at Pirate’s Cove fishing your heart out, share the fun with family and friends at home via Facebook broadcasts, live VHF audio during Lines In and our Interactive PCBT APP.

Come for the Giving

PCBT turned non-profit in 2014 donating 100% of proceeds locally ever since. The Alice Kelly has generated Millions for the ICO Cancer Support Group and donates an additional percentage of its Top Dolphin Jackpot each year while still presenting over $30K in prize money! We support the brotherhood of Veterans sending 20 servicemen fishing each year thorough our annual SheepDog Veterans Challenge tournament and hold host to local First Responders and vets with a great dinner and celebration. Finally a portion of our annual giving goes to billfish research and we support interactive learning through a cooperative effort with state wide university programs.

Come for the Love of the Marine Industry

Tournaments are just one cog in the wheel of the Marine Industry. Boat builders, pipewelders, electronics, tackle companies, destinations, coatings, power packages, running gear – the list of support companies in this industry is endless. Tournament Week offers a unique opportunity to interact with the industry’s most sought after members. Our sponsors are simply the best of the best and they are right on site – all week – to answer questions, offer support and remember you when service time comes to call. And hey, if you are short an angler grab your favorite mechanic – you will be surprised by their talent in the pit! PCBT offers sponsors and participants a trip into a world that includes so much more than wetting a line.
