I first saw the RemigoOne at the 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival and thought the Slovenia-built electric outboard looked like a great alternative to gas-powered versions.
The 1,085-watt, or 3-hp equivalent, outboard is now available in North America. It touts a number of features that put it near the top of a crowded field.
At 26 pounds, it is reportedly the lightest in its power class. The design of the marine-grade aluminum outboard integrates the LiFePo4 battery and tiller handle, with the latter folding and locking to become a carrying handle. At just 2 inches thick, the RemigoOne can be stowed in places where other outboards would not fit. I also liked the foolproof interface—just two buttons atop the outboard.
The RemigoOne comes with a separate mounting bracket, which allows height adjustment based on the transom. It also has two magnetic kill switches, an AC charger and a spare propeller pin.
According to Remigo, a full charge will take about three hours and last about four hours at a 3-knot cruise speed, with a 14-nautical-mile range. An optional remote control can be clicked onto the tiller or used separately. $2,999. remigousa.com
