Situated on a couple of acres of Olympic peninsula rainforest, the 40-foot Meadowlark is a 1938 classic PNW cruiser, docked comfortably on dry land and open for lodging with four beds (err, berths), a serviceable kitchen (uh, galley) and a unique travel story to last guests a lifetime.

Lucky lodgers can experience the yachting world of the ’40s in this spacious wooden cruiser of Lake Union heritage, designed in the spirit of famous Seattle marine architect, Ed Monk.

The listing, which can be viewed on Airbnb, continues…

Authentic bathroom, kitchen, sleeping quarters and period memorabilia. Roomy salon for meals/games. She sits high and dry in her own meadow. Enjoy comfortable yet stable cruising.

A rich, warm solid mahogany interior. Unique and outstanding design. Enjoy cocktails on the dock overlooking your own private meadow. Quiet, private and secluded for a good night’s sleep. Single nights welcomed. Secure parking.

You are welcome to wander the grounds for botanical wonders and bird and wildlife sightings. Great place for your dog to run off that road trip energy.

Though it probably shouldn’t need to be stated, the listing specifies that Meadowlark is not an amusement park ride, nor was she actually built for premium overnight accommodations, thus the accommodations may not be appropriate for everyone. In fact, disappointments for Marriott Bonvoy Elite members may include low ceilings, several tedious steps up and down to various rooms, and a salty “boat” ambiance. But what do you expect? After all, she’s 80 years old.

During the winter months, the boat is heated (score!), but “not all areas are equally warm, so layers and slippers are highly recommended.” Also, the “pilothouse and galley are quite comfortable, the bunks are dry (what a world!), and bedding is deep and luxurious.”

Be sure to enjoy the shower, which is situated outdoors and boasts ample hot water for a 5- to 7-minute “experience.” Though shower shoes and a robe are highly recommended.

Book now! With stabilizers like these, this room is sure to be in high demand.
