As boat show season kicks off we wanted to highlight a few of the boats that have made or will be making their debut this coming year. While the following list certainly doesn’t cover all the new boats out there, it covers several of the boats that have come over our radar. Follow the links below for more information…
Sabre 45 Salon Express:
Maine-built Sabre Yachts has begun construction on a new Downeast model to fill the gap between their successful 42- and 48-footers. Like all Sabre designs, the fully-enclosed 45 Salon Express will ship standard with twin Volvo Penta IPS drives that they estimate will get the 45 to a performance cruising speed around 27 knots, but the top-end speed is only part of the story. North Pacific 44 Sedan:
Following the same styling cues and hull form as 2014’s Pilothouse 45 debut, North Pacific Yachts is well underway to bringing a 44 Sedan to North America this winter. The 44 will feature a 21-foot-long saloon/galley/helm combination on a single level, a skeg keel with prop protection, two staterooms, and plentiful interior headroom. [MORE]
Bering 65 Nomad:
Near the smaller end of their lineup of offshore passagemakers, next year Bering Yachts plans to introduce the 65 Nomad. Sharing the same full-displacement, economical long-range cruising design as its brethren (the range currently spans from 50-115 feet), this new steel-built raised pilothouse weighs in at a burly 235,000 pounds. Powered by twin Cummins QSL9, Tier 4 EPA-compliant engines, the 65N is estimated to exceed 5,000 miles at an 8-gph fuel burn rate. [MORE]
Bering 80 Explorer:
Bering Yachts also launched and sea-trialed their first Bering 80 Explorer this year. The Bering 80 is currently the flagship of their Explorer line of yachts. She carries a true explorer stance with a bold, tall design, and fuel capacity that can move her over 6,000 nm. [MORE]
Great Harbour TT35:
We wanted to develop a very practical boat that made cruising easy,” says Mirage president Ken Fickett about his upcoming release, the Great Harbour TT35. “We put everything we’ve learned from decades of building performance sailboats, long-range sport fishing boats, and liveaboard trawlers into a package that is comfortable, easy to operate, and simple to maintain.” [MORE]
MJM 35z:
While this isn’t your classic PassageMaker boat, this downeast sport boat is still worth mentioning. The new MJM 35z shows off yachting technology at its peak. The 35z is built with an epoxy composite hull design that makes it light, strong, and fuel-efficient. With 250 gallons of fuel onboard, her dual outboards can push the 35z over 50 knots. [MORE]
