Italy-based Apreamare is known from its line of elegant gozzo dayboats, but the builder’s Maestro line dates back two decades. These navettas (little ships) are meant for long voyages, and the latest, the Maestro 88, is the largest-ever vessel from the Sorrento yard.
In a first for Apreamare, the Maestro 88 is graced with a semi-displacement hull. When matched to her standard power package—a pair of 1,600-hp MAN engines—the 88 is capable of 18-knot cruise and a top speed of 23 knots. Back off the throttles to 10 knots, and her range is estimated at 1,000 nautical miles.
MAN diesels up to 2,000-hp apiece is offered as optional power, with which the builder estimates can push the 88 to a 22-knot cruise, and to 28 knots with the throttles firewalled. Owners can also choose to increase her fuel capacity from the standard 1,849 gallons to 2,642 gallons.
Outdoor spaces are expansive on the Apreamare flagship. Both the cockpit and foredeck lounge offer sunpads and seating in full sun or shade. But the flybridge may be the catbird seat, with commanding views, room for what looks like a baker’s dozen of guests and a galley with wet bar, icemaker and cold stowage.
Below decks, Hull No. 1 has a four-stateroom layout—a full-beam, amidships master, forward VIP and a pair of staterooms with bunks; all are en suite. Owners will have the option of having up to five staterooms and crew quarters for four.
Other notable features include custom furnishings from Italian design house Poltrona Frau, a garage that can house a tender up to 13 feet and a large solar array on the flybridge hardtop.
