Cutwater Wins Innovation Award

Cutwater’s new flagship, the C-32 Command Bridge, was named the Miami Boat Show Innovation Award winner in the Powerboat Cabin Cruiser category by the NMMA and Boating Writers International.

“A lot of engineering went into making a trailerable 32-foot retractable flybridge boat with all of the features included,” said Kaylie Jasinski, an awards judge.

According to the builder, the Command Bridge concept is a gamechanger in the size range, giving owners a second fully functional helm station up top, accessed by stairs from the cockpit making it safe and easy for the family, including pets. Also up top is seating for four guests and a fold down varnished wood table.

Riviera 505 SUV

Australian manufacturer Riviera has launched its 505 SUV, a mid-range cruiser with plush passagemaking in mind. According to Riviera, its in-house design team was granted carte blanche to design a new hull from the keel up to bridge the gap between form and function underway.

The 505 SUV offers “big-boat” attributes, while staying faithful to a seaworthy flybridge ethos for entertaining, as seen in its raised mezzanine aft seating area, a covered living space equipped for inside or outside entertaining with protection from the elements and built-in furniture. Our editors who saw her at the Miami show described her as “a surprising new entry into the conversation of what the next-gen Loop boat might look like.”

Sabre 58 Salon Express

The popular Maine builder’s 58 Salon Express made her world debut at the Miami boat show last month, showing off a three-stateroom layout that includes design elements from the Sabre 45 Salon Express and the flagship 66 Dirigo, but with larger windows, an electric sliding sunroof, and single-step access to the salon and helm deck.

The 58’s galley-up configuration places the galley aft, perfect for alfresco living and taking advantage of the comfortable cockpit seating arrangement. According to Sabre dealer DiMillo’s Yacht Sales, the 58 made easy work of 6- to 10-foot seas courtesy of a 25-knot blow they encountered on her eight-day Maine-to-Miami voyage.

Sirena 58 Coupe

Sirena Yachts launched the newest addition to its fleet, the Sirena 58 Coupe, at the Miami Yacht Show. With hull and superstructure design by Germán Frers, the 58 Coupe has a contemporary plumb-bow design, modest freeboard and a fast-displacement hull that provides a vessel range of around 850 miles at 10 knots, while capable of a top speed around 26 knots.

With a four-panel door that opens almost entirely, the single-level space flows seamlessly from pilothouse to transom, including a fully shaded aft deck. The bi-level forward owner’s cabin has private access to the foredeck lounge.
