A boat docked at Vancouver’s Quayside Marina exploded and was quickly engulfed in flames on Thursday. The fire was reported at around 11:20 am. The Fire Department and local Coast Guard worked together to extinguish the fire.

According to the Vancouver Courier, the After Eight, a 46-foot yacht that was docked at the marina, left its dock to avoid the smoke and flames. Witnesses say the boat that burned was the Lady Anna.

Lightning was reported nearby that morning but it’s not known whether that was the cause.
