• Official U.S. debut held at Palm Beach International Boat Show
• Fully customized interior layouts and finishes available
• Hull No. 3 and Hull No. 4 currently in production; 5-month production time
Turkish yacht builder Vicem Yachts debuted its all-new Vicem 50 Classic line at the Palm Beach International Boat Show in March. The new model underscores the yard’s initiative to design and build boats in both cold-molded and fiberglass construction.
“When we introduced the Vicem 50 Classic as a fiberglass model, we realized that we could deliver a quicker turnaround time to customers, while at the same time we could develop a yacht that exceeds our owners’ expectations in terms of quality, style and seaworthiness,” said Vicem Production Manager Yigit Akbarlas.
On the water, the Vicem 50 Classic is a well-equipped vessel in its standard configuration, with heavy aftermarket equipment that includes gyro stabilization and a transom-mounted dinghy lift. Capable of top speeds exceeding 25 knots, the 50 Classic is projected to maintain a range of 477 nm at a slower cruising speed of around 8.5 knots, according to the builder. A lighter-equipped vessel option and/or the more powerful optional engine package yield a top speed closer to 28 knots or higher range.

According to Vicem U.S. Sales Manager Noelle Semmes, owners can opt to have tunnels added for reduced draft, or even straight shafts for those who prefer a more conventional drivetrain.
“Aside from than the salon versus flybridge option, customers also have the option of galley up or down, or the standard two- or optional three-stateroom accommodations layout, plus a wide range of options from cabinetry and countertop surfaces to cabin sole flooring,” Semmes said.

The standard option on the main deck includes a pair of straight settees to port and starboard in the main salon, which doubles as the interior helm. Double doors aft lead to a teak-decked cockpit with a large L-shape settee with table, complemented with a built-in refrigerator, grill and sink for outdoor meal prep. All cabinetry is custom crafted at Vicem by artisans who build vessels from 45 feet to 150 feet in length. Cabinet materials and countertops throughout can be specified to the owner’s taste.

The 50 Classic has a standard two-stateroom configuration with ensuite heads and a galley. The second head doubles as a day head, with dual entry either from the corridor and the twin guest cabin. The master cabin has a queen-size island berth, dual hanging lockers and a large head with a separate shower.
