With the first year of The Boat Guy in the books, and his little Ranger Tug headed for the dry dock, Chip Hanauer take a moment to look back and say, “thank you,” before riding off into the sunset.

I’m excited that this video is about finding a piece of the Squire Shop that has been on the bottom of Lake Washington since 1979. It could just as easily be about a loss far worse than a piece of molded fiberglass.

This past weekend, Sam and I were invited to the first annual YachtoberFest on the Foss Waterway promenade, adjacent to the Museum of Glass and the Washington Historical Museum.

Sam and I are jumping on the boat to party again (shocking I know)! This time, it’s the inaugural YachtoberFest at historic Foss Waterway in Tacoma, Oct. 3-4, 2014. And, there’s still some moorage left!

I simply can’t put into words how much fun we had at the Ranger Rendezvous at Roche Harbor on San Juan Island. Our Ranger Tug, The Boat Guy I, as usual, was perfect for the Rendezvous. It’s a fast, fuel-efficient, comfortable, and beautiful boat.

Sam and I have had the itch to party in Tacoma ever since our visit in May. And what better excuse than the inaugural YachtoberFest at historic Foss Waterway!

I was there that horrible day in Mexico when Bill Muncey died in that boat. It is a day that I, and everyone who has ever been involved in the sport, will remember forever.

The Boat Guy wakeboarding video is a testimony to not getting scared of doing something you want just because everybody says, “It’s too hard,” or “You’ll never learn it,” and so on. So go, get on the water!

I want more of it as soon as I can. It’s an easy, clean, inexpensive, and healthy way to be on the water. So, remember, it ain’t the boat, it’s the float that matters!

Island time is great, except in an emergency. This medevac service is for boaters who need help fast.
