Owners of the COR55 RAV took delivery last summer at Cormorant’s shipyard in Gdańsk, Poland. They put the CE Category A Ocean-rated hull through its paces with a 14-day, 950-nautical-mile shakedown cruise to their native Norway.
The COR55 is the first boat to splash in a semi-custom series of four models that range from 55 to 75 feet. The raised pilothouse 55 has an enclosed sky lounge with a helm design that arranges a pair of captain’s chairs flanking a center console, both facing a trio of 32-inch multifunction displays. The wheel is concealed within the console by owner’s request, and there are captain’s quarters nearby.

Above the enclosed helm is a flybridge, with both areas having access to a boat deck that can accommodate a 17-foot tender.
An asymmetrical layout grants the COR55 living spaces with elbow room. Warm oak veneers, along with textured, light-colored soft goods and loose furniture, reveal the influence of her owner’s Scandinavian background. Windows encircle the superstructure, giving the salon and amidships galley abundant light.
The layout has three staterooms belowdecks: an amidships, full-beam master; a portside VIP with a double berth; and a guest stateroom with single berths. The VIP and guest stateroom share a head.

Other notable spaces and equipment include a utility room and lazarette, Sleipner thrusters and fin stabilizers, a Kabola heating system, a solar array with a lithium battery bank, and a pair of 18-kW Kohler gensets.
Power is provided by 230-hp John Deeres, with other engine brands and horsepower ratings being an owner’s choice. With the Deeres, Cormorant estimates a 4,000-nautical-mile range at 7 knots. cormorantyachts.com
