The Ocean Explorer series from Selene Yachts, with five models from 60 to 92 feet, is a contemporary-styled companion to the builder’s Classic line of trawlers. The 52 Ocean Explorer will be model number six and the smallest vessel in the portfolio, offering buyers a streamlined production timeline and much more.

Ocean Explorers have an open layout and large windows, and the 52 is no different. A raised pilothouse, Portuguese bridge, fully protected side decks and a proven, CE Category A Ocean-rated hull should be ideal for long-range power cruising. With an air draft of 14 feet, 2 inches (with mast down), she’s Great Loop ready.

The two-stateroom, two-head, galley-down model comes with just about everything—including lithium batteries, solar panels, Victron power management, Furuno electronics and CMC stabilizers—as standard equipment. Electric bow and stern thrusters, a hydraulic davit and chilled-water air conditioning round out the standard features.

Powered by a single 230-hp John Deere 6068 engine backed up by a get-home drive, the 52 Ocean Explorer is estimated to have a 3,000-nautical-mile range at 6 knots. Selene expects the 52 to be completed next summer.
