Native New Zealanders Mark and Fiona Rammell had put decades into fulfilling carers and a family business. When they wanted to recreate, it was off to the brine with the family onboard a Salthouse boat they owned a share in.
Then they pivoted, big time. They retired, bought Hull No. 1 of Nordhavn’s 51-foot series, picked her up in Turkey and worked out the kinks out in Southern Europe.
That was in 2024. Two years and 8,500 nautical miles later, the Rammels are just getting started on a 5 or more-year circumnavigation.
