After launching Hull No. 18 of its 96-foot series, Nordhavn Yachts Chief of Design Jeff Leishman saw a need for a model between the N96 and the builder’s largest-ever vessel, the N120. Thus, the N112 was conceived.

“I think this design would be a perfect fit for anyone who has owned a large yacht with lots of crew and is looking to simplify things,” Leishman says. “Or anyone looking to upsize from something smaller and wants a true expedition yacht. She’ll be versatile enough to be ideal for a number of different buyers.”

The N112 will be full displacement, with a steel hull (with an aluminum or FRP superstructure) and the capacity to carry enough fuel for transoceanic voyages.

Leishman says he focused on creating outside areas for lounging, with folding bulwarks and a large spa tub on the flybridge. The boat deck, on the after end of the pilothouse can carry up to a 26-foot tender, plus a small inflatable and PWCs. She’ll also have a gym and beach club. Accommodations include a large owner’s suite and four en suite guest cabins as well as space for up to six crew.

According to the builder, the Nordhavn design team are currently searching for a factory to construct the N112, with a special emphasis on European-based yards that specialize in steel construction.

The first hull will be built on order.
