The beamy power cat’s commodious spaces emphasize indoor-outdoor living and flexibility.

Last year, Aquila Boats launched the 50 Yacht with a new, sportier look and a wealth of below decks options. The builder continues the theme with the 46 Yacht, which will make her Americas debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

The 46 slots into a lineup that includes models from 42 to 70 feet. Like the 50 that launched last year, the 46 sports a new look and a number of tailored layout options. The standard layout is a winner: three en suite staterooms, one in each pontoon and a forward, full-beam master with king berth. Optional layouts include four or five staterooms that look to make the most of her belowdecks spaces and are also en suite. Owners can also add a lower helm station.

Having a beam north of 23 feet translates into superlative, spacious entertaining spaces. The salon is flooded in light from large windows in the superstructure, with an aft galley ideally placed to service the cockpit—via a flip-up window—and the rest of the salon. The flybridge has room for several guests and direct access via centerline stairs to the foredeck. Full walkaround, wide side decks with high bow rails instill confidence and safety for line handlers.

Standard power on the 46 will be a pair of 320-hp Volvo Penta D4s, with options for 480-hp Volvo Penta D6s and 550-hp Yanmars.  Like all of its models, C-Zone digital switching is standard.

Aquila’s Hydro Glide Foil System is an optional feature, which reportedly enhances the performance, fuel consumption and handling characteristics. The 46, like all Aquila models, also has bulbous bows on her hulls. They increase stability and speed while improving fuel economy. On a catamaran, they also obviate hull sneezing.
