Okay, here’s how the story goes…

We were hopeful we could put on an event that people would come to. We were hopeful the weather in February would be “decent.” We were hopeful we could find sponsors to help fund our party. But the bottom line is, we were hopeful that the people who had the courage to join us, in the dead of winter, would have a good time and return with some great memories, as well as some new friends. For all of those reasons, we couldn’t be happier with the way The First Official Boat Guy Winter Rendezvous turned out!

At The Boat Guy, we really mean it when we say, “It ain’t about the boat, it’s about the float!” It gives me a great deal of joy to see people with a 70 boat, fully-equipped with a hot tub, having a great time with a couple of guys in a small, wooden sailboat with virtually no heat; having a great time together; sharing the beauty of life afloat!

From what I can tell, the people who came to the Rendezvous were people with a sense of adventure, who were willing to take a chance on a fun-loving group who had never put on any kind of event, let alone a boating event in the dead of winter. They were rewarded with a great few days. I know I was!

We had so many sponsors, if I try to mention them all, you’ll quit reading this. But, trust me, these are great companies, run by great folks, who took a chance on us and our fans. I cannot thank them and you enough for believing in us! (The sponsors are also listed on the Official Rendezvous page. You may remember that one.)

And, as far as the city of Poulsbo goes, from the merchants to the mayor to the police department and the musicians and everyone else, you guys are the best! Not only were you competent and creative, you were so much fun! So, the bottom line is, thank you, thank you, thank you. Everyone, thank you! Let’s do it again, but just not this weekend. I need to put my life back together! I hope everyone feels the event was as successful as we do. And I can’t stress enough, whatever happened in Poulsbo… it is not The Boat Guy’s fault!
