While I do not always ascribe to the above quote, it terms of the last few days I do. We left the Venice Yacht Club and cruised outside down the Gulf to the Boca Grande Cut back onto the ICW. The seas were flat and the winds under 5 knots. We passed under the San Carlos Bridge and turned west toward the southern end of Sanibel Island. Here we found a glorious anchorage in about 10’ of water just east of the last red marker WOW! The night was calm and the stars were spectacular. We were the only boat anchored and it was only about a quarter of a mile off the Sanibel Beach for Baci. We have never anchored here before and sort of ‘fell’ into a great spot … therefore the quote better to be lucky than good.
