A 78-foot Feadship that partially sunk in Alabama is reportedly a 1953 vessel that has had several famous owners.

The Notorious was being lifted with divers from Chattanooga, Tenn., during the weekend, according to WHNT 19 News.

Nick Werner, operating manager at Ditto Landing in Huntsville, says the boat, refurbished and restored, could be worth $500,000 to $1 million. In its current state, before sinking, it was worth about $50,000. The owner has been repairing the boat for about two years.

According to Wikipedia, the boat was christened SeranoII and renamed Exuberance before being dubbed Notorious.

It was commissioned by a reported mob boss from Chicago and later fell into the hands of President Gerald Ford and actor Charlton Heston as one of the first high-class yachts imported to the United States.
