Talk about poor timing!
A Mongolian container ship, Leonardo, broke in half off the coast of Turkey, in the Black Sea, on Sunday while on her way to dry dock for repairs.

She was at anchor off Istanbul when she started to buckle and then broke in two. Turkish Authorities rescued the 11-crew members aboard the Leonardo, all were reported safe. It is still unknown why she broke apart.
The forward half of the ship stayed afloat long enough for tugboats to tow it to shore. The aft half of the Leonardo immediately began to sink as it drifted and ran aground along the rocky Kilyos coast.
