Three decades ago, U.S. Marine Joe Tokarz took part in training exercises with NATO troops in southern Norway. Its raw beauty captivated him, and he vowed to go back and explore the region.
Last year, Joe and his wife, Grace, did just that. The couple spent more than two weeks on an all-electric boat, cruising on the fjords, coastal ports and namesake canal of the Telemark region. Joe tells us about how he quickly went from a skeptic to a believer.
Once he retired in 2022, Joe Tokarz turned his hobby and passion of restoring boats into MotorCity Boat Werks, his YouTube channel where he’s racked up over 1.6 million views and 18,000 subscribers.
