Hachi, a miniature goldendoodle poses onboard the Island Gypsy 32 trawler Takara Maru.Takara’s home port is Racine, Wisconsin, on the western shore of Lake Michigan. Human companions Tony and Linda Giovingo put a cap on Hachi’s head and snapped a couple of pictures for us.
As you may know, goldendoodles are a cross between golden retrievers and poodles. The original purpose of the cross was to attempt to develop guide dogs suitable for visually impaired individuals with allergies. The goldendoodle is sometimes called a designerdog.Common coat colors include white, cream, apricot, gold, and red. Goldendoodles may also be black or a light sandy brown.

If you’ve got the image in high-resolution, that would allow us to publish it in the magazine, or a calendar…We just don’t know where this will lead yet, but it’s fun.
Though not exactly a contest, the editors are thinking of providing some kind of material reward to anyone who sends a truly striking image. Cute counts!
