Tired of the highs and lows of that business, he took a look around his cruising grounds at the stunning homes of the Hamptons and founded a successful career as a custom homebuilder.
When it came time to reward himself with a yacht, he toured production yards and became frustrated with the lack of customization available. So, he built his own.
Outer Reef Yachts was born from this experience.
Now, some 160 boats later, Druek shares the experience of launching a new boat brand, why he prefers long-range boats, how working with exacting clients make him a better “out of box boatbuilder” and his latest venture, teaming with a Netherlands-based builder for an all-new Adventure series of Outer Reef Yachts.
