Star cruises with David and Cindy Wood on a 1970 Bristol Trawler 42 from Barnegat Light, New Jersey, named Northern Star. “Her favorite activity is to go outside of the cabin and come around to the galley window to get a treat. Just too adorable,” says Cindy Wood.
Star was sent to Pets Aboard as part the Float ‘n’ Fetch contest. She wasn’t among the 30 finalists, but that’s okay because she’s eligible for the next year’s contest.
As of now we have cut off voting in the canine photo contest, and we will be announcing the winners shortly. First-, second- and third-place will be receiving handheld VHF radios from ICOM, all of which float and can be fetched.
So keep sending pictures of your dogs or cats to [email protected], and we’ll put him or her on display like Star. Ideally you will include the names of the human companions, the make, model and name of boat, homeport, and a paragraph that provides context for the image or describes what makes your pet special. If you’ve got the image in high-resolution, that would allow us to publish it in the magazine, or a calendar.
And once we get organized again, we’ll have another contest.
