Passagemaker’s standalone series of boat shows designed for cruising enthusiasts returns today to Stuart, Florida, with first-class education seminars and demonstrations (beginning today, March 3), plus an impressive in-water selection of new and pre-owned cruising powerboats and the latest in marine gear and services (beginning Thursday, March 5).
Combining a niche boat show featuring dozens of cruising craft with a nautical education program offering more than 30 seminars makes TrawlerFest a must-do for every long-range cruising enthusiast. And a schedule of evening events will allow participants to socialize with the people they will someday see on the water.

TrawlerFest is for people in the market for a cruising power boat, for those who have recently adopted the cruising lifestyle, for more experienced cruisers who want to broaden their skills and for sailors looking to switch to power.
This year’s lineup offers all the standing seminars that have been informing attendees for years—diesel engines, boat handling, marine electronics, the Great Loop, buying a boat and how to maintain that boat once it’s yours. Additions to this year’s lineup include:
And as always, we’ll have new subjects and new takes on old subjects.
- Cruising expert Addison Chan teams up with weather guru Chris Parker to take a new look at the Bahamas post-Hurricane Dorian.
- Speaking of Parker, we have completely re-designed his weather offerings this year, including this new take: “20 Facts About Marine Weather You Should Know But Probably Don’t.”
- Steve Zimmerman takes you on a voyage along the Downeast Circle, circumnavigating New England and the Canadian Maritimes.
- Recently retired Admiral Dixon Smith and his wife Kiki will describe how they made the transition “From Pentagon to Power Cruisers.”
It’s not too late to catch this year’s show and see what all the excitement’s about:
