We’ve added two new seminars to our line-up at TrawlerFest-Bay Bridge Marina on Chesapeake Bay, presented by veteran technical presenters Bob Smith and Steve Zimmerman.

(ALERT: The “Hands-On Boat Handling” seminar has sold out. There are only a few seats remaining in the two-day “Everything You Need to Know About Diesel Engines.”)

“Bob Smith on Diesels: A Q&A” is intended to be a fun, relaxed, conversational and practical session that allows attendees to get their engine questions answered by the man we call “The Diesel Doctor.” Bob Smith, developer of the Lehman Ford diesel engine and founder of American Diesel, is the longest serving presenter in the history of TrawlerFest.

“Smith on Diesels” happens 8:30-10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 2.

PassageMaker Troubleshooter columnist Steve Zimmerman has more than 40 years of experience working on boats. He operates four boatyards in Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. Zimmerman will present “How To Inspect A Boat Like A Pro” 10:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m., also on Friday.

The seminar will attempt to help attendees develop a critical eye and find hidden flaws. It will also serve as an “appetizer” for longer courses in which Zimmerman regularly participates, including “Everything You Need To Know About Diesel Engines” and “Care & Maintenance of a Cruising Powerboat.”

The TrawlerFest boat show and seminar series runs Tuesday through Sunday, Sept. 29-Oct. 4. The boat show runs Thursday through Sunday, Oct. 1-4, and includes booths displaying marine products and services. You may also call 954.703.4789 or email us at [email protected]
